We often shy away from things such as disposing that certain lipstick that left so many memories but is extremely old & almost done or how about that foundation that we only use for our tanned faces. Unfortunately we really must Spring clean our makeup for health & safety reasons first & foremost.

Keeping your brush kit clean is also a very important part of the process
Just keep in mind how often those brushes & applicators come in contact with your skin. Daily I would assume? Wash them thoroughly with a special cleaning solution for brushes or just plain shampoo will do the trick. Allowing them to dry before use is also very important & when drying remember to keep the bristles facing down so that water doesn't accumulate near the handle.
Determine good from bad
Anything with a cream base generally has a 6 month - 1 year life span, therefore dispose of it once you've reached that. Also you might want to determine whether your product has changed colour or has developed an odour. At that point I would start the process of elimination.
Organization of your tools & makeup
I personally love to have my makeup neatly organized & sectioned off. For example I have all my eyeliners & lip liners in one caddy, lipsticks & glosses in another. My sectioned trays hold my mascara, eyeshadows & blushes. Leaving room of course for the foundations, powders & primers. I find it to be very helpful & less time consuming seeing as everything is neatly organized & well divided. Of course this is just how I do things but your technique might work just perfectly for you.
Don't forget this isn't only for SPRING but rather something you should up keep regularly! Hope these tips were helpful.
